I suppose it’s because there are so few issues, but, of late, much of the news media have begun to lead off their reports with the SuperPac race for the money, and guess what? The pro Obama SuperPacs are losing. And guess what else? No one should give a shit.
The amount of money that will be spent on this Presidential campaign will be obscene. On one side there’s the whatever-it-takes-to-unseat-the-scary-black-guyers, while on the other there’s…well, I’m not sure, but it’s not that. And thanks to Citizens United, the 1%, (remember, the infinitesimal minority that control most of the wealth and used to get talked about long, long ago when the ‘occupiers’ were still…um…occupying?), are lining up their piles of cash to buy votes, not by the good, old fashioned Mexican way of direct hand-outs, but by the well-worn Rupert Murdoch method of disseminating vast amounts of preposterous crap to confuse and terrorize their latest sock puppet into office.
Why did the latest monthly job report cause such a commotion? There will be no upturn to the job market or the economy during the campaign because the institutions and individuals who could do something to help are in the “whatever-it-takes” camp, (see “sock puppet” above).
And that evil Affordable Health Care Act…well, it’s just evil and apparently unaffordable and if you’re sick or get sick you should stop whining and leave us healthy folks alone. Oh…and you should only agree with the Supreme Court if they agree with whatever cockamamie thing you believe…right?
This election has only one issue: Will the next government cede all power to uncaring, unconscionable big businesses or will we make yet another feeble attempt at being a country concerned for the health, education and welfare of all its citizens? The biggest obstacle to door #2 is the shit storm of money behind the ‘Energy Voter’ and ‘Freedom-Robbing Obamacare’ ads that run about every two to three minutes, and the millions of uneducated and gullible people who are being convinced by them to vote against their own best interests.
I better come up with something less cuddly than “sock puppet” before I begin a reverse campaign swell for the ‘moronic Mormon’, (probably too much).
