Although all of the blather coming from the idea-less, pointless, obstructionist and shameful excuses for “representatives of the people” makes me want to call them out, individually, with a most eloquent and sophomoric list of expletives, I’ve decided to go in the other direction.

We need to stop the inhumane treatment of undocumented residents, most of whom arrived here like every one of us who is not of Native American ancestry.  We need to insure that the life line of everything, from banking to weather prediction, (with stuff like medical records & research, history, linguistics, all forms of entertainment, [including several non-pornographic ones], spell check, questionably social media and a nearly infinite repository of encyclopedic information, be freely and equally available.  We need to stop killing each other and the planet.  We need to modernize our infrastructure and lead the industrialized world in bringing the struggling third world the systems and technology that will allow them to become valuable participants in the global community.  We need to give hope and support to the hopeless to reduce the recruitment pool for extremist causes. We need to make it easier and more affordable to become well-educated and vocationally prepared to become the innovators and builders of our future.

With all of this in mind, President Obama should give the Congress twenty-four hours to write simple, non-political, unselfinterested, single-purpose legislation to address each of these pressing issues. If they do not succeed, he should invoke Executive Action. It’s the right thing to do.
