…it seems that Bill Cosby has had some predatory, sexual issues, (now that I think of it, he has mostly used that smarmy, deviant voice in his stand-up for decades…and Fat Albert, don’t get me started). This makes me deeply sad, for the alleged victims, of course, but also for having to reprogram my memory of his storied career. I hope he will have to answer, under oath, to at least his under-age accuser, for whom the statute of limitations does not expire. His public humiliation and the myriad of performance cancellations are either minimal punishment or a horrible miscarriage of justice if, indeed, none of his crimes against these women ever happened. But, in the pile-on of outrage by former supporters, the ultimate award for disingenuousness has to go to the US Navy, the poster, (I Want You!), child for sexual abuse and the on-going tradition of ignoring it, for indignantly rescinding its honorarium.
…you’d think it would be harder to get away with improper and illegal behavior in today’s camera-phone/surveillance video environment. Like me, your thought process would be erroneous. If the vivid viral snuff video of three NYPD officers killing Eric Garner couldn’t even garner a probable cause decision by the Grand Jury, something is terribly, terribly wrong. Of course, the nearly constant CSPAN and relentless news coverage of our inept do-nothing Congress hasn’t encouraged any embarrassment for their inaction or prompted any improvement in their behavior…and then, there’s Snooky.
…I realize that I don’t always come across as being fair and balanced, in the true Fox News meaning of that phrase, and that, as in the above paragraph, I tend to be over-critical of Congress, (pronounced Re-pub-li-cans), for squandering time, money and public trust when intelligent, compassionate and innovative legislation is so desperately needed. So, here’s some things they are working on:
