Brotherly Love

I was specifically asked not to bore anyone with a rant about Donald Trump’s announced candidacy and his accompanying SNL-ish speech. Can I, at least, officially nominate him for this year’s Donald Sterling Award, honoring unfathomable stupidity and bigotry?  And, anecdotally point out that that danish-headed, (that’s danish, like the pastry, not the wonderfully-coiffed Scandinavian), moron’s drooling and demeaning dump on Mexican rapists and the sneaky Chinese and cheating Japs is not an attitude exclusive only to this week’s poster boy for self-righteous prick?

Fuck you, South Carolina, (and Lindsey Graham and the NRA), and your Confederate Flag-waiving state capitol which gives permission to your citizens to keep alive the fire of their hatred for one another.  I’m just guessing that the Nazi flag flying over the Reichstag wouldn’t tighten your sphincter in any way.  And screw you, AME church, for announcing your Christian forgiveness of the kid, (can we agree to forget his name?), who wants you all dead or picking cotton or whatever the white supremacists’ handbook outlines as their ‘final solution’.

In our chaotic world, obsessed with religion, the over-use of “love” and, in particular, “brotherly love”, has to be rooted in a far-distant time when like-minded and skinned communities were less likely to encounter anyone unlike themselves, (I think three is the limit of “likes” allowed per sentence).  When those ‘others’ came into play, the philosophy quickly degenerated and, in the words of the most populist philosopher of our time, “haters gotta hate, hate, hate.”
