Amidst all of the hoo-ha, name-calling, chest-thumping, finger-pointing, poll-taking and retaking, what’s missing in this campaign, (maybe it’s always been missing), is a comprehensive list of existential, social and economic issues that each candidate should be compelled to address. In fact, that list should be all they are allowed to address. Spinning a hastily prepared response to the day’s hot-button irrelevant news item or droning on-and-on with the same stale crowd-inciting nonsense provides nothing, other than style points, for the responsible or woefully-uniformed voter to use in the decision-making process. The up-coming debates are not designed to be any more helpful and ‘the media’, (which used to be called ‘the press’ when journalism and its implied integrity were still a thing…and TRONE would have been, at best, an idea batted around in a Mad Magazine writers’ meeting), can’t help salivating over the ratings bonanza, (pronounced, advertising revenue), that the issue-free sideshow atmosphere has created.
