Have you ever noticed that the people with the least to contribute usually make the loudest noise?  (I’m writing this very, very quietly…just sayin’)  It’s probably not a linguistic accident that the word describing the affliction resulting in a lack of speech has become ironically synonymous with being just plain stoopid.

In my Conspiracy Theorist’s Handbook, the shadowy manipulators and anointers of elected officials have somehow calculated that idiots can best be molded to serve their agendas.  This has probably existed from the beginning of organized society but it’s been honed to a disturbing science in recent decades.  Ronald Reagan was a simpleton whose awe-shucks movie star appeal was used to elect him governor of California and then POTUS.  The Reagan years are still the touchstone of Conservative stalwarts who remain blinded to the repercussions of wholesale deregulation and the trickle down horror that has led to an economic imbalance that has strangled the middle class.  The W years finished off the middle class, engaged us in an unending war and created a nurturing atmosphere for ultraconservative, (pronounced ‘fascist’), lunatics to undermine thoughtful, intelligent progress.  Enter Donald Dum.  He is a self-promoting empty shirt devoid of intellect, information, compassion or decency whose only true talent is to pander to the fears and anger of the disgruntled mobs who have abandoned fact, logic, science and morality for the insincere promise of some yet to be disclosed prize as muddily outlined by their exalted, moron leader.  No matter the outcome of the November election, we have so desperately lost our way…the bad guys win.  Maybe, ignorance IS bliss.
