Anybody else concerned about the amount of time and energy, (to date, for this presidency, that would be all of the time and all of the energy), spent trying to find the right combination of people to keep Trump in check? Or the fact that the traditional job descriptions, like National Security, Justice, Intelligence, Health & Welfare, Defense, Education, Environmental Protection, et al, have been mocked away by virtue of their appointees?
Parenting, at best, is a guilt-ridden process, fraught with the joys and agonies of perpetual hindsight as we try to perform our evolutionary responsibility of nurturing our genetic contributions with a “better than” ethical and moral environment. It is most positively effective when practiced in a familial sphere of love, patience and constancy during a child’s most informative social growth period, (birth to puberty for most of us). Despite the extensive proliferation of child-rearing literature, (sorry, Dr. Spock), rules don’t always apply, procreation, for most, happens at the worst socially prepared and economically stable time of life and the responsibility of one or more children is too often beyond the capability of two preoccupied parents and woefully less so for the more than 50% single ones. Is it any wonder that we are a diverse, kaleidoscopic mess of variations on otherwise common themes that make us all see the same black, white, blue and red in very different ways? Or that those differences in perception are more powerful at keeping us at odds than the similarities that should bring us closer together?
To wit, the demonically damaged man-child, whose aberrant nurturing included mentoring by the satanic Roy Cohn, has sieg heiled his way into a position of untold power, having neither the wisdom, temperament, qualification, judgement nor historical respect for the office. He is too old and too enamored by his multi-plicitous personality to be reined in by anyone attempting to advise him. He must be metaphorically sent to his room…if you know what I mean.
