So, this possibly repentant scumbag, on his way to the slammer, after years as a made man, perpetrating the slimiest of criminal activity for the Don, (just can’t make some shit up), claims to have found the goodness that was always lurking inside, and publicly names names, spills the beans and mea culpashis felonious heart out as step one to some anachronistic twelve or thirteen-step path to redemption.  I watched. It’s hard to turn away.  My take away, aside from the creepy feeling that I was viewing fifty-year-old newsreel footage, was that politics has no decency. The line, (could have been a wall), between the Democratic and Republican inquisitors was predetermined and impenetrable.  And really, truly unnecessary.  Anyone, whose brain is registering the tiniest measure of cognitive function, knows that the current President of the United States of America, (I just threw up in my mouth), is an egomaniacal, conscienceless, narcissist, ill-equipped for his present job, who has lived a life of unearned privilege, remorselessly off the backs of thousands upon thousands of people he has openly scammed. Sure, Mikey ‘The Rat’ Cohen’s Congressional sideshow will be fodder for endlessly spinning campaign ads…from both sides…but the sad, sad reality, that the Right, (don’t misinterpret that as meaning ‘correct’), side of that hallowed chamber has unanimously overlooked and abandoned the oversight which is their sworn duty to wield.  There need be no debate as to the salacious, racist, bullying, un-American character of Donald J. Trump.  He tweets or bumbles his way through televised affirmations of that every day.  I get that he has, no doubt, compromised himself to his Russian handlers who are harboring secrets related to criminal financial dealings or hi-def pee tapes…that’s what they have on him.  I can only conclude, that he has photos of Lindsey Graham with a gender-unspecific goat or Mark Meadows beaming at receiving his NRA school-shooting merit badge or Mitch McConnell’s embarrassing and ineffective chin-implant surgery among other threatening materials facing any Republican who breaks Omertà. Basta!
