I try to convince myself that I’m accepting, while simultaneously harboring a wide spectrum from mild annoyance to boisterous disdain for other people’s opinions and beliefs, their political choices, religious followings, driving habits, manners and morality. It’s a struggle. There is certainly an unending, constantly-replenishing list of debatable topics to keep the most contentious among us in a perpetual frenzy, and yet, despite my belief that we are better off excavating common ground, there are some things that are simply wrong, like:
- Any push back to the notion, (sadly, only verbalized a mere 233 years ago), that All People are Created Equal, (and, that except for the questionably-used/abused big-brain thing, we’re not all that special, species-wise, that is)
- Slavery
- Royalty
- Despotism
- Currency, “real” or cyber. (The Simple History of Money – Some ancient dude with a loud voice shouted, “See this pile of shit I have? It’s really valuable. Your pile, not so much.”)
- Religion, (if you have a problem with this one, please ask your god to fix this mess and I’ll happily join your choir)
- Mayonnaise, (seriously…what’s up with that?)
- Waste
- Celebrity
- 53% of the US Senate, (100% of Mitch McConnell)
- 43% of the US electorate
- Trump, (in His image, [see bullet point 6, above], really?)
