[I will not gloat…I will not gloat…I will not gloat…]

Americans cherish their buzzwords, freedom, liberty, democracy, equality are liberally bandied about, often with little or no attention to proper usage or intent.  Since the crafting of the very colorful language of the Declaration of Independence and the painstaking writing, re-writing and confirmation of the Constitution, we have been cherry-picking words and phrases to bolster our biases while digging our heels in against contrary interpretations, whether from credible or unsubstantiated sources or Supreme Court rulings.  This has never been more obvious than the result of a nearly-even popular vote by almost 150,000,000 energized citizens last Tuesday.  It is my contention, (shunning all of the etiquette and propriety of civilized debate), that the 47.7% on the RED side are either too stupid to know the principles on which their country was established or are too committed to racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, altruism-lite attitudes to give a shit.  Our Founding Fathers, flawed as they may have been, intended for us to literally grow into the buzzwords they created.  To be American, “freedom and justice for all” and “all men created equal with certain unalienable rights”, can’t be perceived as mere suggestions.  From our earliest days, the buzz that made us the light and hope of all less-than people across the globe, was the promise that those things were a given.  And yet, here we are 244 years on, and nearly half of us are willing, actually hungry to embrace leaders and ideology contrary to who we, (even those contrarians), say we are and what we say we believe in.  At the hour of this posting a venal, despotic, now deposed pimple on the alabaster butt of the American Dream is cowering and quaking in the Presidential residence, tweeting baseless nonsense and trying to energize the darkest, most violent fringe of his base to ride to his rescue.  It’s not going to happen.  The voice of the people has spoken, loud and clear and we say, “Buzz off, Donnie!”
