This is probably too big a topic to dip my toe into, but…here goes.
Public outcry, (thanks to the Internetal ease of distribution), has reached historic levels. The pro and con of every conceivable issue is posted, reposted, glorified and debunked endlessly and at lightning speed. The origins are casual, critical, callous, comical, caustic and cathartic with little differentiation and the content, whether serious or otherwise is often perceived with equal zealotry. I’ve become fascinated by those who take the most rigid positions, mostly, disturbingly curious about their endgame.
Putin. I mean, what the fuck? The guy’s a multi-multi-rublionaire, so, it’s not about wealth. He’s President or supreme poobah or whatever for life or until he’s assassinated, so, it’s not about power. I get that he’s pissed that his country is an economically unsustainable shit show and he wants more respect on the world stage, but…unless he’s a syphilitic idiot, he must know that the resultant retribution heaped upon him for invading a sovereign nation, poisoning his opponents and governing the massive territories of Russia as a thug and a crime boss, is all bad. There is no scenario, aside from the nuclear option, where he has leverage and, if that is a line item in his childish hissy fit, well…KABOOM!
Republicans. Could anyone of you dumb fucks please tell the rest of us what it is that you want? I mean, if you’ve really become or always were and just finally decided to come clean about being fascists, let’s deal with that. If you take control of the country and reinstall the mad king or some facsimile, what then? You deport or enslave all of the non-white scum that’s been polluting the purity of “your country”? You continue to drink the lead-laced water, let the air return to Chinese-like levels of poison? More guns? Has anyone of you given the least amount of thought to how you deal with 300 million people without any plan or platform?
1%ers. Returning to the ancient reigns of arbitrarily chosen royalty, (maybe there was some infinitesimal benefit to being a ‘protected” subject), which in modern parlance is more about dominant corporate power than the tracings of an inbred bloodline, is foolish wish fulfillment. Being uber-wealthy on a quickly becoming uninhabitable planet, unless you have the desire and means to resettle another, is just plain stupid. By disenfranchising and impoverishing everyone who isn’t you, you’re eliminating the ability of your customers to buy your shit and even if you have so much that you don’t have to sell any more shit…what’s the point?
