Anybody ever have a medical insurance issue, (I’m intuiting a unanimous show of hands)?  Let me first explain that all of those problems, from the disallowed coverage of the one drug you needed or the denial of your life-saving liver transplant based on…well, nothing really other than your insurer’s arbitrary decision to let you die, are a result of the profit-driven health care industry with a shameless disregard for both your health and your care.  And by “health care industry”, I’m not talking about dedicated medical professionals, the doctors, nurses and researchers who actually provide vital services, but the algorithmically-secure insurance providers whose fees versus services formulae are mandated to first, last and always maximize their bottom line.  They, not the government, (led by the scary black President), are what has always stood between you and your doctor.  The mostly frivolous, decades long debate over National Health Care, (the insurance lobbyists kept it so), facing the perfect storm of a simultaneous Democratic President and Congress, hammered out, (I think actual hammers were used), the stupendously imperfect Affordable Health Care Act, making it ‘THE LAW’, with the Supreme Court subsequently weighing in on its Constitutionality.  The “Right”, (it took a while for me to get there, but here I go), who, by the way, get sick too, immediately began a crusade, (from all indications, their only legislative imperative), to repeal it.  In nearly four years, with forty-one wasteful and unsuccessful votes to do so, there has been no reasonable debate on amending its shortcomings and there most certainly has not been a single responsibly proposed alternative.  The “Far, Far Right”, (let’s just call them the Tea Party, shall we?), led by the Bachmanns and Cruzes and funded by the Kochs have taken on the task, (with remarkable success), of confusing the wildly uninformed by demonizing things that would be, in fact, in their best interest to embrace.  The real right thing for the “Right” to do, would be to take a breath, talk amongst themselves and pick ten important issues, (OK, five if that’s too much work), that have significant benefit, (like Obamacare), to the majority of Americans and see how it actually feels to accomplish something.  Shutting down the government, which, at this moment, they have decided to do instead, does not qualify.  Come on!  That’s just not right!  Stop listening to the bat shit Koch brothers and the equally guano-esque talk radio blatherers.  Oh…and the only thing that anyone will remember about Ted Cruz’s twenty-one-hour Senatorial sideshow will be Green Eggs and Ham, which is already beloved and memorable…so, that would be nothing….right?
