Sorry, Ben

I realize that I have been especially critical of the Republican candidates.  I’ve tried, (really), to find some common ground, or even some uncommon ground, rooted in a belief or a philosophy or the simplest idea that would benefit people or the environment or that economy thing, and all I hear is that god wants us to do this or not do that, and we need to repeal ObamaCare and keep our cold dead hands wrapped around our guns while we bomb the crap outa them Muslims and trust that the free market system will, (by some indecipherable algorithm), keep us all gainfully employed, housed, fed and clothed. I’m not doing so well.  Bible thumpers have no place in the American political system, which is constitutionally designed to freely allow the pursuit but specifically deny the influence of any religion.  Admittedly, we haven’t been very prudent about the church and state separation thing, but we certainly should be.  Looney Tunes are supposed to be entertaining, five-minute, animated shorts before the feature at a Saturday matinee, not some crazy-haired moron blathering about rapist Mexicans being dissuaded by a 2,500 mile wall or bombing just about everybody that doesn’t look like him, (which, let’s face it, would be, gratefully, everybody), unless he punctuates his statements with goofy xylophone runs and rim shots.  Nor should we tolerate blatant liars like Ben Carson, and not so much because he’s a lying sack off shit, but because he’s such a terrible lying sack of shit…except…I have to admit that I believed the science, in contrast to Ben’s solid stand to the contrary, regarding the age of the Earth and the simultaneous coexistence of dinosaurs and humans, and then, yesterday, my grandchildren took me to see The Good Dinosaur…sorry, Ben.
