Donald Trump is right. It’s all broken. Unfortunately, for any clear-minded, literate, caring human being, he’s wrong about everything else.

America got broken, (well, truth be told, it was pretty fucked up at the start), by allowing elitism and the lust for wealth to trump, (it’s impossible to find a better, and now doubly or triply entendre’d word), the great big go-to ideas of equality and democracy. We certainly had many opportunities to listen to our better shoulder angels and truly be the beacon-like Shangri-La that so much of the world perceived us to be throughout most of the last century. Instead, our American Renaissance, (the Industrial Revolution), an historically unequaled spurt of innovation and creativity, led to a frenzy of military and economic imperialism, immersed in the soul-killing policies of despotic nations and corporations. Where do we go when the most drooling demand to protect our guaranteed freedoms is for the weaponry one so we can freely shoot each other? Religion, ethnicity, color of our skin…not so much.

So, Donald, broken…yes, but your schoolyard-bully-mentality take on making America great again is contrary to everything America is supposed to stand for. Being kick ass and exclusionary of those who don’t think and look like us, (that would be pasty-faced, orange-haired morons in your case), makes us a marauding Mongol horde, and that didn’t really work so well the first time around, (there are books about it, many with pictures, if you want to see where you’re headed). Your Charlie Sheen-esque blather about “winning, winning, winning” may incite your pitch-fork wielding mob to a whooping frenzy, but if you could still your vocabulary-challenged self promotion, perhaps some of the more important, “how you play the game” ideology might creep into your consciousness…or not.
