It’s looking like you will be the Democratic nominee, that is, of course, unless you make some completely boneheaded blunder. I am not a political expert, but as someone nearly your age who has actively and maddingly participated in the process of governance for most of my life, I have sage advice that is key to your path forward to retaking control of the Congressional and Executive branches of the United States. Make no mistake about it, this is the last chance we have to save our country and I hope you read this before you walk onto the debate stage later this evening. Here’s the thing…
- NO BULLSHIT! Do not spin anything! Be honest and concise! Don’t be defensive! Admit your missteps, wrong votes, hair sniffs and bad parenting with regard to Hunter’s career path. You seem to be a very decent guy…be that!
- Stop dismissing Bernie’s health care, education, income inequality and Green New Deal platform as unaffordable and thus unattainable! Americans want, need and deserve great universal health care. Admit that Obamacare did not go nearly far enough and needs to be fully overhauled. Americans should have the finest, free, government-provided education, pre-K through two years of community college and low or no interest loans for continuing education. Corporations and billionaires got to pay their fair share. No one should have to work multiple jobs just to survive. America needs to lead the way in the global effort to reverse the man-made climate change disaster caused by corporate and political greed and irresponsibility. Be the guy that says yes to these things. It’s what everybody wants. Oh…and don’t just say it…mean it!
- Take every opportunity to contrast all of these things against the present administration and its Congressional enablers. The President has made us the laughingstock of the world when once we were revered. Trump has isolated us from all of our real allies, choosing instead to rub bellies with Putin and Kim and Xi merely out of bluster and personal gratification, making the world much less safe. Moscow Mitch has used his misguided power to cockblock piles of beneficial legislation regarding gun safety, education, environmental protection, institutional financial impropriety, usurious pharmaceutical practices, voting rights, tax reform and immigration. This is not the America that we have fought and died for for 250 years.
- We need to rise once again as the shining example of hope that freedom and democracy, uncorrupted, can bring to all peace-minded people on Earth. Why not be that guy?
