I’m sorry…although many things may be literally aflame, I confess to the illegal and profoundly antisocial use of such an extreme alert.  A hook-and-ladder squad may not be specifically required, but the impending danger is no less dire.  So, yes, this is an all-hands alarm call for a nation-wide bucket brigade to stand up, shoulder-to-shoulder, to put an end to the madman arsonist who seems emboldened to burn down our democracy in plain sight.  Trump keeps tossing lit matches from his Twitter feed or on Fox News or from some podium or other with the Seal of the President of the United States Scotch Taped to its face, (**for fuck sake, how did this happen?), and lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies, lies as our country is reduced to unrecognizable cinders.  He would be mock fiddling if he had a clue who Nero was, instead, he cackles and sneers like some demonic cartoon villain for which he obviously has a frame of reference.  He has become as venal and powerful as any dictator who has come before and he is supported in the Senate, the House, the cockamamie media and by millions of morally misguided minions, (see ** above).  He has successfully challenged the restraints of oversight critical to our Constitutional existence, flipped the bird to the rule of law and is but a Blue Diamond or two away from calling off elections and declaring himself Supreme Leader.  We must take extreme measures…NOW!  This is not hyperbole.
