Pheeeeeeeeew!  It’s probably going to take an historical look-back, many years from now, to put in perspective just how narrowly we dodged a nation-ending bullet.  The rise of the malevolent, lying huckster, so adept at stirring the worst fears and behavior of so many unhappy citizens that brought us to the very edge of our demise, defies all logic.  And yet, in the afterglow of this week’s temporary victory of Good v. Evil, it is on us, every last give-a-shit one of us, to find the words and the tone to chip away at the still malignant presence of untruthfulness.  Fox News, Parler and the like are not going away.  Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, Mitch and Lindsey, Qanon and Rush are still guaranteed their First Amendment rights to pull any load of shit out of their asses and tsking and eye-rolling will not dissuade anyone lining up to suckle on that misinformation.  Barely two weeks out from inciting rioters to carry out an armed insurrection, Republican senators are lining up to acquit their twice-impeached, lunatic leader, who literally threatened their lives.  How is that even possible?

And now…thanks to the surprisingly progressive outcome of Georgia’s political awakening, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and a Democratically controlled House and Senate have a minimum two-year window of opportunity to use truth and action to convince 74,000,000 voters that shooting themselves in their feet is not in the best interest of themselves, their country or their feet.  The all-hands-on-deck attack on COVID-19 is primary, but as they’re walking and chewing gum, legislating massive jobs growth through a top-to-bottom, decades-overdue retooling of every sector of our infrastructure, re-imagining public education, public health, racial and gender equality, immigration, policing and narrowing the financial divide, all with a no-excuses approach to environmental responsibility, is all attainable.  The positivity and the personal benefit that will be felt by most Americans has to turn the misguided zealousness of those who have been seduced by the Dark Side…right?  Republican naysayers and conspiracy theorists need to be shut down.  Shouts of reckless spending must fall on deaf ears.  There can be no more appropriate expense than the righting of our listing ship of state.  Dems need to righteously brandish their majority and shameless wave the banner of the nuclear option to stop the immoral nonsense of Republican posturing.

Let’s do this thing!  Oh…and convict that piece of shit traitor and relegate him to the dankest cranny of history.
